Financial sites and companies I use and recommend:

American Fidelity - I have my disability insurance with American Fidelity. You can buy short or long term income replacement coverage up to 66% of your salary. I firmly believe disability insurance should be mandatory for all workers. It should take precedence over life insurance because there's a higher risk of you getting sick/injured than dying. And if you do get sick or injured for several months or years isn't it nice to know you'll still be getting a paycheck? I think it is.
TIAA-CREF - For your 403b, 457b and IRA(Individual Retirement Account) needs TIAA-CREF is one of the best for those in the academic and medical fields. If your employer does not offer TIAA-CREF as a vendor for your retirement funds kindly suggest that they do. Low fees, good service and steady returns. I've used them for years for my 403b and 457b.
Vanguard - One of the best mutual fund companies around. Vanguard was actually founded by the man who invented the index fund, John Bogle. I've read a few of his books and the man really knows his stuff. The Vanguard Group has dirt cheap expense ratios and plenty of fund choices, both index and actively managed. They also have a Money Market Fund where I keep my savings(currently paying over 5%. Try getting that with a neighborhood bank's savings account). I have an individual account and IRA with Vanguard. I used to live down the street from their corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania. Great place to work.
Statefarm - What can you say about these guys? They are the largest multi-line(life, car, liability, etc.), privately held insurer in the country. I use them for renter's insurance and have always been happy with the rates.
Progressive - A good automobile and motorcycle insurer with reasonable rates and phenomenal service. When I had an accident in 2005 which destroyed my car beyond repair I had a check for the entire value just two and a half days later! Check out their site and punch in your information for free quotes and comparisons.
403bwise - A very informative site about a very important retirement vehicle: the 403b. Answers any questions you might have had and then some.
457bwise - The sister site of the aforementioned that discusses the 457b. It's very similar to the 403 but is a bit more portable should you choose to switch vendors or careers.
Motley Fool - A very informative and entertaining site about investments and money matters. They have free discussion boards about finances and various tutorials on what you should do with your money(but since it is your money you alone are responsible for what you do with it).
Morningstar - A good research site for those interested in mutual funds and individual stock picking.
Yahoo Finance - If you're interested in following the market's daily progress(or lack thereof) this site is for you.

Education, information and news related sites I visit:

Clark County School District - This is the site of my beloved employer. Check it out and apply for a job if you wish. The number of people that move to Las Vegas is incredible so we're always looking to fill positions.
National Education Association - I've been a member of this large teachers' union since I started in education. Lots of great member benefits so give the site a look. I have a group life insurance policy through NEA that is very cheap and underwritten by Prudential.
Cybrary Man - a nice site with loads of educational resources at your disposal.
Wikipedia - This site is absolutely amazing; articles and information on anyone and anything you can think of. I often get lost on this site for hours.
Newsmax - The best all around news site I have ever seen. Has links to all major columnists, pundits and newspapers as well as loads of political cartoons; so find out what's going on in the world and check out Newsmax!
Internet Movie Database - If you love researching movies and television this site is for you. Anything you want to know about the making of your favorite flick or show as well as info about the actors and crew. Loads of descriptions and trivia. Have some fun and check it out!
